Our Story
SAGLEV was founded by Dr. Olugbenga Sam Faleye, in 2021, with a simple but ambitious belief: Africa should not merely consume electric vehicle technology—it should build it.
Recognizing the enormous economic, environmental, and technological opportunity presented by electric mobility, SAGLEV invested in local manufacturing capabilities, strategic global partnerships, and highly skilled Nigerian talent.
Today, SAGLEV assembles one of Africa's broadest portfolios of electric vehicles, ranging from passenger cars and executive SUVs to pickups, cargo vans, luxury off-road vehicles, buses, and commercial fleet solutions.
Our partnerships with leading global EV manufacturers allow us to deliver internationally proven technology while steadily increasing local value addition and industrial capacity within Nigeria.
As demand grows, SAGLEV is committed to expanding local assembly, component manufacturing, workforce development, and exports throughout West Africa.
Our Leadership
SAGLEV is led by a multidisciplinary team combining expertise in medicine, engineering, finance, manufacturing, technology, international business, and sustainable infrastructure. Our leadership believes successful electric mobility requires more than manufacturing vehicles—it requires building an entire ecosystem that enables long-term adoption.
Sam Olugbenga Faleye, MD, MSc, FACP
Dr. Sam Faleye is the Chairman & C.E.O. of SAGLEV INC., founder of the Delaware, U.S.A. Incorporated Electric Vehicle Company focused on accelerating the adoption of Zero-Emission Vehicles from ICE vehicles by partnering with commercial and private fleets as well as individual buyers.
SAGLEV INC. is now assembling EVs in Imota, Ikorodu, Lagos. SAGLEV'S Assembly plant is the first automotive assembly plant in Sub-Saharan Africa to assemble strictly Electric Vehicles.
In addition to being a Board-Certified Internist in Private Practice since 1998, he has excelled in Clinical Informatics. He was a Ph.D. Scholar at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis, Tennessee.
Dr. Faleye holds an M.D. from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, an MSc. in Informatics from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis, TN, and completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Howard University Hospital, Washington, DC. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and was elected a Fellow of the American College of Physicians in 2005.
He is a long-term serial entrepreneur who has founded multiple US Companies in the Real Estate, Healthcare, Logistics, and Securities trading fields.
